Thank you for visiting my website. These essays and reference materials reflect my areas of interest. While much of what you'll see here refers to specific issues in Oregon, where I live, other states may be facing similar issues. I hope you find something that provokes a response, disapproving or not. As can be seen, some of my opinions have already been proven wrong.

I am a practicing physician by training and an amateur historian by avocation. My prejudices will be easy to discern. While I do look good in a toga, the photo on this page makes me look better than reality.
